Our Top Met Gala Looks 2021
Share
September 13th, fashion’s biggest night was held at its usual location: the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. We take a look at our favourite looks from these years theme of “American Independence”. Consider the Met Gala red carpet to be a walking museum—these outfits are true works of art.
J.LO
When it comes to sticking to the theme, JLo gets top marks out of all the guests. She made a convincing case for high-end western wear; all she needs now are cowboy boots.
BILLIE EILISH
Billie Eilish was one of the night's biggest surprises. The Bad Guy singer looked stunning in a princess-worthy peach ballgown.
IMAN
Iman made a strong first impression! The 66-year-old supermodel looked jaw-droppingly stunning in her sun goddess-inspired look, giving fans one of the major 'wow' moments of the night.
IRINA SHAYK
Irina sashayed down the red carpet in a beautiful, nude effect dress with colourful floral embroidery, easily one of our favourite looks of the night. The Moschino gown was perfectly paired with beige heels and a sleek updo for the show.
YARA SHAHIDI
Yara Shahidi arrived at the Met Gala in a custom strapless Christian Dior gown, embroidered with intricate beading, and fashioned with a thin belt and a long trail.
KIM KARDASHIAN
Isn't it true that Kim never disappoints? The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wore a head-to-toe Balenciaga ensemble, complete with balaclava, to ensure she was the talk of the town. The star's dramatic costume, which was a departure from her usual glam, divided fans. The 75-inch pony tail hairstyle was perhaps the only thing more dramatic than her faceless, all-black Balenciaga ensemble.
EMMA RADUCANU
Emma Raducanu, the new US Open champion, who swapped the court for the red carpet looked stunning in Chanel on the Met Gala red carpet.
KENDALL JENNER
In a floor-length Givenchy gown, Kendall Jenner amplified the glitz. The sheer gown, which was worn with a nude bodysuit, made a big impression on the red carpet. Kendall kept her hair and makeup simple, allowing her dress to take center stage.
JENNIFER HUDSON
Jennifer Hudson kept it simple in a figure-hugging scarlet down with dramatic, voluminous sleeves and a matching train, channeling old Hollywood glamour. She walked the red carpet with her hair in an elegant updo and worked her magic.
At least we only have to wait 8 months for next year’s looks…
